The first step to unlocking the wisdom of the enneagram is to self-type.

No one else can tell you what type you are.

Others are only witnesses to your behaviour, not the motivation that drives it. 

The best way to start the self-typing process is to research the system independently and recognize which of the nine natures of is your dominant nature.

You’re being asked to unearth the primary motivation and instinct that underlies your behavior, it requires self-awareness and honesty and can be a lengthy process of self-inquiry for some.
